Many San Antonio West Siders will leave the top of the ballot blank this year

Rosa Cuellar can't forgive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama for passing up Hillary Clinton as a running mate. But she also can't vote for John McCain, because she is not a Republican.

Her solution?

“I'm not voting,” said Cuellar, a 53-year-old homeowner on El Paso Street wielding a weed trimmer and wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat. “I'm in limbo, see?”

That dilemma is not uncommon here in this West Side neighborhood behind the Guadalupe Arts Cultural Center, where “Hillary” signs once dotted the yards. With the Democratic and Republican national conventions over and the presidential tickets set, the signs are mostly gone but allegiance to Clinton is dying hard.
You can thank Barack Obama and the blogger boyz for dampening an election that should be full of excitement.

Meanwhile the Obama crew is successfully shopping the idea that the Republicans are running Palin/McCain. The idea that a strong woman in the VP slot could overshadow the man in the top slot is sooooo anathema to the Obama team, they're using it as a talking point. McCain must be laughing his a** off! I know I am.
