San Antonio's Hagee tries to reinvent himself for John McCain

Too bad. You're on record. You're motives are pretty obvious. Oh, wait, the US traditional media will buy any Republican crap you've got to sell.

In the last several months, San Antonio Pastor John Hagee took the unusual step of clarifying, retracting or publicly retreating from some over-the-top statements that made him a polarizing figure, even in his own Christian circles.

This week he made amends with Catholics. He's also reversed harsh comments about gays and revised his writings about Jesus' role as the Messiah.

These remedial efforts followed intense criticism that multiplied once Hagee, pastor of Cornerstone Church, re-entered the national political stage in February with his endorsement of presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
