Texas Republicans tired of cronyism?
Cronyism was just fine last session. Why are House Republicans still after Craddick? Why at this point in the session? Representative Rep. Byron Cook, R-Corsicana has his say. [Video - here.]
“I will not yield to tyranny, bullying, or threats. This body will not realize its potential as long as [this] is to be tolerated.”What's changed? Tyranny was just fine before.
“The budget is being stopped…and exploited for political gain.”Well, duh. I thought you liked exploitation for political gain?
“Please don’t put this body through 18 months of Hell.”Oh, it's been a lot longer than that! Capitol Letters has another Republican calling Cook a liar.
Chairman Cook made his speech, Irving GOP Rep. Linda Harper Brown came over and said there was no truth to what he'd said, and that it was all "D.C. politics" about money and power.Clearly, Republicans do like money and power.
Jim Pitts threw hit hat in the ring again joining Jim Keffer as a candidate for Speaker of the House.
Could this be a case of rats and a sinking ship?
