Noyola holds failed news conference

Today Danny Noyola supporters held a failed news conference that only recived the attention of channel 10.

When pressed by Channel 3 reporter Andrew Whitman the Noyola spokes persons could not answer the hard questions so 3 news did not deem it news worthy and didnt report the story.
One Noyola supporter said that State Democratic Chairman Boyd Richie had Committed a terrorist act against democracy.

Yep, good job calling our State Chair a terrorist Noyola, that's the democratic way!

looks like the wheels are coming off!

Expect a nasty letter from Noyola in the mail tomorrow.

Since a small portion of the territory of both precincts reside in district 33, the elected representative has the right to vote as the representative of that precinct according to the state democratic party. They do not vote as individuals, but rather as representatives of the precinct. The argument of one person, one vote does not hold. The elected official is voting for the precinct as a precinct chair, not as an individual voter.

Texas State Representative House District 33: Get to the issues and stop the ugliness

CCISD brought in a tandem specialty for performance appearances. The numbers needed to be classified so that CCISD / Miller High School could not lose money for the absent and the low grades. The CCISD structure encourages liberal use of certain labels and titles; CCISD uses the Special Education umbrella for the School / District’s benefit. In the TAKS test, certain exclusions of select students allow these students to take another test that has no effect on the overall score of the school. CCISD brought the Tandem in (like Troutman brings in Rambo) to complete a mission. However, should the mission fail; CCISD will avow no knowledge.

Democratic Precinct Chairs

Re: State Representative District 33 nomination

I am Jane Wall, former Journalism teacher at Miller High School. I taught at Miller for the last ten years with four principals. While at Miller, I worked with the Caller-Times who printed our paper and delivered it to 18,000 homes monthly. We were the only area high school to do this. I also instituted technology into Journalism that was cutting edge.

So, why am I gone from there? I loved that school and those students but after only one year with Danny Noyola as principal, the school was living up to its reputation. There were regular fights in the halls and the courtyard. For the first time, I didn’t feel safe at Miller. This was a direct result of no leadership. The kids were in charge and they knew it. Parents felt free to just come to your classroom and knock on the door to register a complaint. We even had parents arrested last year for assaults on assistant principals.

Mr. Noyola was a talker; not a doer. His assistant principals suffered from such an incredible lack of leadership that they could not even work together. I sat in a meeting in Mr. Noyola’s office, where two assistant principals were screaming at one another. I looked at Mr. Noyola and asked him why he didn’t do something. He just sat there. As I left the office, I could hear the screaming down the hall. I am sorry to say that the situation with the assistants created a virtual war zone for the teachers. We were expected to be on one side or the other. Teachers were just left with no support at all.

Mr. Noyola came into my room one day to tell me that he had a problem with a story that came out in the paper. He threatened to censor the paper and I was shocked. It was a minor story about how some kids wear grills, which are silver or gold teeth. He had gotten a call from someone who didn’t like the story so he told me that I needed to check with him when I was going to run something “controversial”. I asked him how I would have known that story to be controversial and I showed him the board with a listing of every story that we were planning to run. I asked him to review them and let me know if there was a story that might be a problem. He wouldn’t even look at it. He simply repeated that I needed to know these things and that it was in his right to censor the paper. By the time he left, I was completely confused as to how to do the right thing.

On another occasion, I went to Mr. Noyola’s office because a student of mine was receiving absences when she was going to the classes that an assistant principal had assigned her to attend. I walked into his office and asked him what would happen with these absences. He called in the assistant principal and they decided to erase the absences. Later, he tried to say that the assistant principal had done this alone. I was there. He was the person who instigated the whole thing. This incident alone was enough to make me realize that this is not the kind of man I wanted to work for. I certainly was not alone. Miller lost quite a few good teachers this year.

We spent the second semester at Miller being investigated by the district police for wrongdoing. We spent the last day of school holding the good kids prisoners in their first period classes all day because we had riots all day the day before. They were completely unchecked. That Thursday, I was coming from the gym to the building. When I reached the building, I had gone through shaving cream fights, water balloons being thrown, and fist fights going on in the courtyard. When I got to the doors, they were chained shut. This was before the school day had even ended. Just as I reached the doors, I was basically pinned by a fight that broke out just inches from me. It was terrifying for me and for the kids who were chained out there with me. At some point, a custodian saw me and quickly unchained the door and pulled me in. That was the day that I drove to Tuloso-Midway and applied for a job. Honestly, I left because I believed that Mr. Noyola would be back for another year. Had I known that Delia McLerran would be the principal, I would still be at Miller.

I am currently teaching at Tuloso-Midway. At this school alone, there are four new teachers who transferred from Miller. We were amazed when we saw one another at the new teacher in-services. If Danny Noyola, Sr. could do this to Miller High School in only one year, imagine what he might do in Austin? I am a staunch Democrat and have been since I was in my teens. But, if given the choice of voting for Danny Noyola as State Representative or voting Republican, I would vote Republican which would break my heart. Please consider your decision carefully on August 13th, the future of our Party, District 33 and children are in your hands.

Former Miller H.S. instructor and Current Tuloso-Midway teacher

Chingow! Ms. Wall's comments are consistent with everything I have heard as well. If Noyola wins and we lose in November then we as Democrats deserve to lose.

It would be a foolish gamble for Precinct Chairs not to choose the obvious, given the unfortunate circumstances of late.

The issues of "approach ability", "elect ability", Management Style & Ability and responsiveness are applicable.

How is your candidate the most approachable?

the most electable?

the best Manager?

How is your candidate responsive?

YOUR candidate?

as for ms. wall's comments, a agree that there were many things that should have been dealt with that were not...and in the eyes of many there was no leadership. however...please let the readers know all the positives that came out of miller h.s. under noyola's leadership...surely she can think of a few. by the way...she failed to mention that as far as censoring, many teachers were very upset during the time a spring break issue of the school newspaper was released because she failed to remove a picture of partygoers at the beach smoking a joint and another picture of students throwing gang signs.
as for the grills...i enjoyed the article.

Jaime, Hi! Its me again. Just want to share. I LOVE UGLINESS. Its part of our reality. It started with Carlos Truan and the palaqua crowed. It was kept alive by Dr Hector, and spread by KUNO's commentarios. Got to get use to it if you want to change things around here. So get over it and stop trying to be our Guardian Angle. thanks. C U

PS You are very good with the facts. Stick with it, your good at it. But plese stop trying to stop everyone from saying what they feel by telling us we have to be nice. It does not work. In Corpus Christi nice people come in last. We are not at fault. Talk to the old Mexican American leadership and the lawyers. They made the bed and we have to lay in them until we change thing. Thing are so bad that in Corpus Christi that suger does not catch more flys, salt does. REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
