Our legislature which CANNOT or WILL NOT address the problems of our state including school finance wants a raise. The nerve of some people. Sure, they got some ethics commission guy appropriately named Looney who was appointed by Craddick to ask for it.
Craddick, as you may recall, wants to spend lots more of your money remodeling his state-paid for Austin apartment AGAIN. Craddick = sucking more tax payer money for HIS benefit.

Got to disagree, you try making a living and feeding a family on a per diem of $125 (during session only) and $600 per month before taxes.
The powers that be like the current situation; only wealthy R's need apply.
Sooo, given the above scenario would you run for the Legislature?
There are lots of reasons I wouldn't run!
Since our lege only meets every other year, would they be paid full time anyway?
