I feel so much cleaner
Tom DeLay is converting his compaign fund into defense funds and moving to Virginia. Isn't that sweet! The US House is cleaner today than it was yesterday. Even if the new rep is as corrupt as the old rep, it will take time to be as efficiently evil as the Hammer was.
Who will the SREC put on the November ballot?
Harris County Judge Robert Eckels would be interested in running, Woodfill said, and Houston City Council Member Shelley Sekula-Gibbs, David Wallace, mayor of Sugar Land, state Rep. Robert Talton of Pasadena, and former state District Judge John Devine of Houston all had expressed interest Monday night.More on contenders:
Eckels would have to be the frontrunner, Woodfill said, being well known in Harris and Fort Bend counties. "You'd have to handicap it in his favor," he said. "There's going to be a lot of folks interested," Woodfill said.
Harris County Republican Party Chairman Jared Woodfill said he started receiving calls from interested officials within minutes of hearing the news of DeLay's decision. Here's a sample of what the people are saying in Dallas:
I think the corruption quotient of the House of Representatives just went down about 80 percent.
Hopefully he will be going to jail instead of Washington like he plans.See original interviews in Time Magazine and the Galvestan Daily News. See DeLay's announcement video. Thank you Jesus!! Our prayers were heard and HE has delivered us from the Hammer!
